Catfishing is still good off the rocks with leeches and shrimp. The
channel cats are still spawning some but the spawn may be slowing.
Fishing along the rocks under bobbers at 6' has been the best method.
Whitebass are good but still spotty. The white should be really good
very soon. They are not in the jumps but are chasing shad along the old
river channels at 15' to 20'. Some stripers are also being caught on
Sassy Shad in the tail waters. Bluegill are excellent in shad and along
the docks. Several artificial baits as well as live bait will work.
Crappie and sauger are slow. Largemouth are spotty but some good
catches are being taken whenever current can be found. Most are being
taken on Carolina rigged plastics. The largemouth spawn is over and the
fish have been moving towards the summer drops. Fishing is generally
good but be careful this week with the heavy boat traffic.
