Now this is a hunter's dream! Chevy continues to drop jaws with its latest Silverado model. Not only does the 2008 Silverado deliver all the dependability and power that it is known for, but Chevy has taken the current concerns and interests of the outdoor community and translated them into compelling vehicle options.
As concerns about the future of the environment continue, Chevy is providing fuel solutions that are available on today's trucks. With Active Fuel Management technology available on Silverado 5.3L and MAX 6.0L V8 engines, Silverado can deliver eight cylinders of power when it's needed or deactivate four cylinders when it's not. This technology is also available in combination with a Vortec FlexFuel 5.3L V8 engine that can run on gasoline or E85 - a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline1. E85 is a cleaner-burning, mostly renewable fuel source that can help reduce our dependence on petroleum. The outdoors is our playground and we need to help preserve it.
In addition to advanced engine options, Chevy also makes some cool technologies available for those who like to drive off-road. One feature to fall in love with is the automatic locking rear differential. When rear wheel slippage is detected at lower speeds, the rear locker automatically kicks in, sending power to the wheel with grip, providing additional traction. The rear locker is especially beneficial in serious off-roading conditions. It will help get you way out with those monster bucks in snow, mud or just about anything Mother Nature throws at you. Watch the demo video to find out how the "locker" enhances traction to help get the Silverado out of slippery situations.
