Things to do before you travel.
* International Travel
o Check that your passport expiration date is at least six months after your return home from this trip.
o Photocopy your passport in case it is lost or stolen.
o Check on whether or not you need a visa for the country you are traveling to, and how to get one if needed (your travel agent can usually assist with this).
o Check with your doctor about any immunizations that may be required for the country to which you are traveling.
o U.S. Citizens - take your firearm(s) to the closest U.S. Customs office to obtain a Customs Form 4457 which will provide proof of ownership both in the country you are hunting and once you travel back to the U.S.
o Get enough Traveler's Checks to cover trophy fees, gratuities and emergency money as some countries or locals won't accept credit cards.
* If flying, check with the airline before you purchase your tickets regarding their firearm and ammunition policy.
* Check the sight in on your rifle.
* Print out names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses of friends, relatives or other persons you may wish to contact while you are away.
* Print out all paperwork associated with the hunt, including the invoice as proof of payment, and contact information for the outfitter.
