Several years ago, we bought my son his “starter pole”,which was a plastic Scooby Doo children’s fishing pole. We never thought that this pole would actually work or last. However, for a few years now the fishing pole continues to operate flawlessly. These small poles are the perfect size for kids 3-5 years old, and are so simple to operate, that casting and reeling are a breeze.

This pole has now been passed on to my daughter now, as my son moved up to his next rod. She is so excited about this fishing pole, and when we head out to the ponds and lakes, she steps up to the banks, and takes control. Casting out the line, and waiting patiently until the bobber plummets.

I am still not sure what is going to happen when we land anything more than the “cute little guys” that she catches. But for now, we’ll keep on taking Scooby Doo out with us, dropping in the lines, and bringing in the fish.
